So apparently Blu-ray officially wins the Hi-Def format wars (…so glad I bought a PS3). Toshiba announced yesterday that it will discontinue their HD DVD business. This is a HUGE deal as Toshiba was a major partner of companies like Microsoft and Paramount Pictures in the format war on the HD DVD side. This comes after companies like Warner Bros., Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Netflix announced that they would support Blu-ray disc exclusively, ending their previous support of both formats. One thing you will notice about the GREAT majority of PS2 fans is their unwavering love for the brand. Ever have that friend in high school that wouldn’t buy anything other than Nike sneakers? Or wouldn’t even THINK of touching a Sega Master System over Nintendo?
These kinds of players have a horrible prospect before them…a huge delay in the release of PS3.

I had a friend that insisted that PS3 was going to be the end all be all of life and that UT2007 was coming out exclusively for it. I wish he was hear today. As I predicted, a franchise like UT, that has already sold itself out to consoles, WILL NEVER, EVER be exclusive to any system. It is too big, too hardcore, too popular. And the developers are too greedy. 
But in that greed comes games that have continually whooped up on pretty much every FPS out there, argueably of course.
Much to the delight of all UT fans, UT2007 has been announced on ALL systems, PSThrizzle, X-Bizzle 3-sizzle, and PC.
Gamespot 2005 gaming retrospective

Gamespot is featuring a great article called the Best and Worst of 2005. They’ve outlined the most important moments in gaming over the last year.
Some gaming moments I remember which made it to the list are:
- EA’s overtime lawsuit
- Hot Coffee controversy
- Next-Gen console announcements
- Gamestop Pwns EB Games
- Half Life 2
- Nintendo loses monopoly on handhelds with PSP launch
One notable event was missing from their list:
- Dec 6, 2005: SquatSquat.com is launched.
Oh well, Maybe next year…
UT2007 on PC and PS3?

Okay, so if there’s any validity to this rumor, Unreal Tournament will be released for PS3 as well as the expected PC version. This decision is sure to have Unreal Tournament purists screaming and fainting like rich ladies in Polaner All-fruit commercials.
Does this mean that there’s truth to theories on PC gaming’s eventual demise?
My main question about UT2007 is: Will the 360 be getting any love?
