My uber-micro has suffered

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

So my latest addiction you ask? Starcraft: Brood War. (sorry, I don’t have a pic. Google dat.) Despite being almost 10 years old, this classic RTS is still entertaining and has a decent sized online community to boot. Unfortunately, I got pwned all day yesterday. I used to be good at Warcraft….key words: used to.

So what is this uber-micro you may ask? Once again the fine folks over at Pure Pwnage have coined a phrase that Team Squat has adopted. Hopefully that above link to wikipedia worked, so you can read a more technical description. Yet, it still can’t capture the hilarious movement that Pure Pwnage has associated with the term:

T.G.I.F. the 13th

Friday the 13th - NESIn case you haven’t looked at your calendar today, it’s Friday the 13th. If you’re superstitious, you’re probably trying extra hard to avoid black cats, open ladders and the like. (F00l!)

However, if you’re a gamer, and we’d be willing to bet that you are, then this image probably comes to mind…

Yes Ladies and Germs, that’s a screenshot of Friday the 13th for the Nintendo Entertainment System. So while everyone else is making corny jokes about the 13th, we gamers will be reminiscing about a time when The Power Glove was the hottest thing around and 16-Bit was considered “Next-Gen”

I laughed for quite a while on this one. If you like Star Trek at ALL, you’ll get a kick out of it…

Squat LOV3

Thursday, December 15th, 2005

So my girlfriend and I are watching King Kong last night and there’s a scene when someone caps off on this weird savage with a long barreled pistol. POW POW POW POW and the savage goes down. So my girl leans over to me and says “Baby, would that be a good time to squat?” And with an audible laugh I respond “YES! That’s the PERFECT time to squat!!’

My friends, I am in love, and her name is Squat…err…Sunny. :)

Step to Robin Williams and you will get domed!

williams

You learn something new every day. Today I learned that Robin Williams is a gaming addict.

I must admit, I would’ve never imagined this one. If asked, I would assume he had no love for this sort of thing. Anyway, read the interview to yourself in the Mrs. Doubtfire voice for added effect…

“Oh dearies, it’s time for some positively dreadful sniping and squatting. Wut Wut!”

Lan Hackers is 1 year old!

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

squatlowThis news is a little late, but It’s important.
Our favorite Halo 2 Clan – Lan Hackers – have been together as a group for 1 year as of December 9, 2005. That’s pretty notable considering Halo 2 itself has been out for about a year. All the members of Team Squat have been Pwning N00bs with Lan Hackers since it’s early days.

In the spirit of Red VS. Blue, Lan Hackers made a pilot episode of what is to become a machinima sitcom of sorts.

FPS Doug

Okay, I know everyone’s already seen this once or twice, but I just had to post it.

My favorite line from this episode of Pure Pwnage is:

“My heart’s beatin, My hands are shakin, My hands are shakin, BUT I’M STILL SHOOTIN!.” Hilarious.

What’s your favorite Pure Pwnage moment?

(By the way, FPS doug reminds me of Tronsta with less hair.)

The Game vs. The Bathroom

So don’t even act like you haven’t been in this situation before: you’re in the middle of an AWESOME game, and when I say awesome, it can mean either you’re playing the best you’ve ever played and/or you’ve reached a part of the game you’ve never been too and/or you finally got to fight the end boss in Leisure Suit Larry. You’re so into the game you don’t even release the growing strain upon your bladderrifics, or your bungcover, or your testiclots. But then, while a new level is loading, BAM! It hits you. You gotta go, and now.

Now, this is where many people differ, and everyone has their own ways of handling said situation. Here’s a few ways I’ve heard people handle The Game versus The Bathroom dilemma:
