actually what i don't like about WM6 is that it closely resembles XP. XP = good for computers, not so good for handhelds. it locks up a lot! not what i want in a handheld. not to mention it can be confusing to people that aren't that tech savvy on a PC to begin with.

Palm has a very short learning curve and just works. I have have a few different Palm OS models (since Palm III) and I can count on my hand the times it has crashed on me. Mostly cuz of installing incompatible software.

Nice. My company uses Treos and since I don't have one, when someone asked me the other day if the Centro was worth it I didn't know what to tell them. Nice review you got here. I added some tags so that people can find this article easier int he future.

Palm OS, though old, is really solid. I like Windows Mobile 6 only because it closely resembes XP, which I use all day and every day. But Palm is extremely time tested and reliable. The main thing I like about it over Windows Mobile is there is much less GUI overhead since the interface is so much simplier. Without the bells and whistles and higher end gfx of the interface, the phone performs better overall, which is why Palm OS still exists and will exist for a long time. I'm surprised some big company doesn't pick it up and update it, perhaps with Unix stuff.
