We don't even know what the smoke monster is yet. It might not even be real. It took an entire truck of liquid nitrogen to freeze the blob, and it still didn't even die. The smoke monster? An intimidating African guy and an over-the-hill wannabe-military guy were able to defeat it. My vote goes to the blob. It grabbed a guy and pulled him down into a sink drain. A SINK DRAIN! So far, the smoke monster is a lot of hot air. I’m actually going to have to go ahead and disagree with the majority here…

The smoke monster is intelligent, and kills efficiently. The blob just consumes. I think it would depend on how big the blob was at the beginning of the fight. If it was already huge, even the smoke monster couldn't hit it enough to stop it. I mean, in the movies they had to send the stinking thing to antarctica to stop it. Also of note is that the smoke monster CAN be hurt physically. The blew it up with dynamite in season 1. I think Sqlid is right. The smoke monster is intelligent, and kills efficiently. I think it would depend on how big the blob was at the beginning of the fight. If it was already huge, even the smoke monster couldn’t hit it enough to stop it. I mean, in the movies they had to send the stinking thing to antarctica to stop it.
