Creepy PS2 Ad

Posted February 23, 2006 at 3:05 pm by Spamalot

plug faceThis PS2 Ad gives me the bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps! I wonder if there is any purpose to it other than to grab your attention by terrifying you?

Perhaps the plug-face people signify something. Maybe a Playstation online gaming service to rival Xbox Live? Wishful thinking…

PS2 has a history of creepy commercials. They hire a lotta different directors. Do a search for Chris Cunninghams PS2 commercial. It’ll freaking creep you out.

i’ll weigh in on the advert: it’s in poor taste. it’s tech-porn. beyond suggestive. from an artists standpoint it’s interesting. effective.

I just noticed…Spammy, was that a reference to Space Balls in your initial post? The bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps? Hahaha…they’ve jammed us! LONESTAR! Only Lonestar would give me the raspberry!

  7. Spamalot Says:

    Yes, Spaceballs… hehe

And as for the ad, yeah, the third guy makes it really suggestive. But it was done by TBWA and they pride themselves on making people writhe.

Their also the guys that thought it a good idea to spraypaint PSP ad graffitti all around NYC.

Great job guys. Making the world safer for sexual deviants everywhere! *thumbs up* Hey, next squat match, TBWA vs PETA in a squat match, who has the most vile ad campaigns? Freaky Electrical Plug Faced People vs Horrible Fat and Unattractive Naked People Protesting Fur Coats.

I would write a blog about it, but rather, I think I will instead write a blarg about it.

    Blarg…*vomits*
