Why the Gizmondo and every other all-in-one gaming device fails

The sad truth is… unless a gaming giant like SONY develops it (and they won’t) no all-in-one gaming handheld will succeed. The Gizmondo is the final proof of this fact. It has a ridiculous amount of features. It’s a phone, camera, mp3 player, video player, GPS navigator, messager, gaming console, with Bluetooth and mobile web browsing! Despite this amazing list of features, it’s inability to get good titles is dooming it to a worse failure than Tapwave and Nokia had.

After all, if you own a Tapwave Zodiac: Even though there’s no games for it, you still have the Mother of all Palm PDAs. If you have an N-gage: Even if they never make another game for it, you still have a great Nokia handset at a price cheaper than any other Nokia smartphone. If you own a Gizmondo, well, you have a phone/gaming console made by a company that knows nothing about making either.

At SquatSquat.com, we respect Tiger Telematics for taking a shot at the gaming market with the Gizmondo. But alas, it was not to be…

Gizmondo, we squat-errrr…we mean… Salute You!
