My uber-micro has suffered
Posted January 17, 2006 at 11:18 am by WiggySo my latest addiction you ask? Starcraft: Brood War. (sorry, I don’t have a pic. Google dat.) Despite being almost 10 years old, this classic RTS is still entertaining and has a decent sized online community to boot. Unfortunately, I got pwned all day yesterday. I used to be good at Warcraft….key words: used to.
So what is this uber-micro you may ask? Once again the fine folks over at Pure Pwnage have coined a phrase that Team Squat has adopted. Hopefully that above link to wikipedia worked, so you can read a more technical description. Yet, it still can’t capture the hilarious movement that Pure Pwnage has associated with the term:

Hooray for first posts! Yeah Starcraft is probably the best RTS ever made and the online community shows it, there were over 180k players on Battlenet last night when we logged on to US East. It’s perfectly balanced and yet massively deep.
And don’t feel bad about getting pwnd, everyone gets pwnd in Starcraft. It’s a battle of counters, and you don’t always have to be a great player to counter successfully.

Good job Wiggs. I’m glad you know something about RTS games because when it comes to them, *I’m like, completely noobified, Ay - Jeremy voice.*
I’ve never played an RTS game. You know, I never even played RISK when I was a kid. I’ll be at the next Starcraft Lan and I’ll be taking notes.
*Off Topic* - Posting from my car on my lunch break is no picnic. Today I dropped a Wendy’s nugget and a crouton on my PDA. LOL

Starcraft is alot of fun….I just wish I was better. It’s cool though cause I’ve been on break from Half Life 2. That game does make you tired. After a long session I feel like my senses have been squatted.
Maybe you could pick up SC. It’s 20 bucks, runs on MAC and PC (online is compatable) and will help you prep for the next LAN. Plus it’s fun to play with Vela and Shen. We had some good times yesterday. I could see you getting into it.

You just wish SC was better?? Aside from gfx, how could it be better? Not to mention better gfx would make it run badly on our semi-decent machines lol.
I’ve played quite a few RTS’s and SC is definately king. Spammy totally check it out, I think you’d like it. And it’s 20 bucks, how bad can it be?

Apparently Tronsta has a reading disorder which randomly adds the letter “t” to words. lol jk
I said “Starcraft is alot of fun….I just wish I was better.” I think Starcraft is fine just the way it is. I wouldn’t change anything about it.
