i’ve never seen a movie by this guy, so i won’t comment with hyberbole, BUT i’ve heard NOTHING but BAD stuff about this guy. NOTHING. i don’t even know how he got UBER-ACTOR Ben Kingsley for his most recent outing, BloodRayne, OR Michael Madsen for that matter. maybe it was a studio move. but i’ll tell you this: Metal Gear won’t work as a movie unless it’s an original script, NOT based on a video game adaptation. and Snake better be PERFECT. with Boll’s guys track record and just all-round awful name, it’d be dumb to give this guy anything, let alone something that means so much to so many people. i’d like maybe for Ridley Scott to tackle this. or maybe Peter Jackson. i’d like to see PJ put his mind to ONE character, not his usual 36637 character tapestries. i’d also say yes to Brian Singer or Alex Proyas. or maybe, MAYBE Paul WS Anderson – even tho i don’t trust him AT ALL. actually, strike that last one. anyway, i hope it never gets made. and if it does happen LET KOJIMA DO IT! and give him 150 million dollars and 100% creative control. only THEN will i say “fast track that!”
