Anyone who knows me is aware of the fact that I’m obsessed with guitar hero. For those who don’t know me — I’m obsessed with guitar hero! Thanks to Wiggy, who lent me his PS2, I’ve been spending time with the most innovative, refreshing game released in years.
For those of you unfamiliar with Guitar Hero, it’s a Bemani Style game where you hit buttons on a guitar-shaped controller in time with music. But describing it this way is really selling it short. It would be better to call it “ultimate air guitar” since the player ends up rocking out like a spazz and striking poses; Some required by the game, others not.
Last night, I beat the game on Expert difficulty. This was not an easy feat considering the last song is Ozzy Osbourne’s Bark at the Moon. Yep, to beat the game you have to bust out a rather lengthy Randy Rhoads guitar solo. After failing the song about 30 times, I made it through by the skin of my teeth and beat the game on the highest difficulty level. This marks the first time I’ve beaten any game on the highest difficulty (I’m not as L337 as the rest of Team SQUAT)
In celebration of my little acheivement, here’s a nifty little clip of a guy playing the Super Mario Brothers theme on Guitar, with sound effects and all.
Teh hawt
Congratulations d00d. Expert difficulty is no joke.
As a reward for you accomplishing such a great feat, I bought you a used copy of Half Life 2. You’ve earned it, lil’ buddy.
