So apparently Blu-ray officially wins the Hi-Def format wars (…so glad I bought a PS3). Toshiba announced yesterday that it will discontinue their HD DVD business. This is a HUGE deal as Toshiba was a major partner of companies like Microsoft and Paramount Pictures in the format war on the HD DVD side. This comes after companies like Warner Bros., Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Netflix announced that they would support Blu-ray disc exclusively, ending their previous support of both formats. So I beat Portal and like many others who have done the same, I’ve become completely obsessed with GLaDOS, the maniacal and devious AI system that runs the Aperture Science facility. Her sincere yet insincere tone keeps you guessing the entire time. Is there really cake? Is there really a “party”? You KNOW there is no cake. You KNOW there is no party. But…is there really a cake!?

It served us well. Our past (and first) wedding anniversary, I bought her a Palm Z22. I was trying to get her away from her huge day planner she carried around … and into 2007.

Recently they released Monopoly: Here and Now, a pretty great rendition of the game, though all the traditional names have been changed (instead of Boardwalk, you have Times Square. Meh) it still plays like the original with a pretty surprising number of options. But enough of that…
